Punjabi Food At Apna Dhaba | Vizag




What you see As we ventured out looking for some good economic eateries in town, we came across this interesting restaurant called Apna Dhaba. Its a typical highway side food joint ( dhaba ) close to the Naval Coastal battery on Beach Road in Vizag. The restaurant is surrounded by a low boundary wall. The portico area is designed with a blend of contemporary, stinking rich seating and a classic Dhaba touch. A khatia ( rope weaved cot ) and run-of-the-mill lanterns are perfect props in the taction along with very rural lights. For those whod fairly sit inside, theres an arrangement there too.

What you get - Apna Dhaba is a specialized eatery for North Indian delicacies, especially those accustomed Punjabi dishes uniform Sarso Ka Saag, Makki Roti ( corn flour bread ), Kulcha, Chana Masala, Rajma etc. There are Chinese and South Indian dishes too.

For starters, theres a wide choice of snacks with Tandoor delights akin Bharwan Aloo ( whole potato capacious and roasted in Tandoor ), Paneer Hariyali Tikka, Paneer Malai Kebab, Chicken Tangri Kebab, Kalmi Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Reshmi Kebab, Mutton Sheek Kebab and more. Fish and prawn preparations are there too.

For the main course, if you lift South Indian food, you can go for Chettinad / Gongura Chicken. Altered, accompany recommend go Punjabi with Dal Fry that comes tempered in pure ghee. Rajma Masala, Dum Aloo, Malai Kofta and Sarso Ka Saag ( Mustard Leaves Curry ) along with Rotis, Parathas and Kulchas are worth a try. Non - vegetarians could try Egg Tadka ( black lentil fry with scrambled egg ), Butter Chicken Masala, Chicken Mughlai ( slightly delicious chicken curry with fried egg ), Mutton Sagwala ( mutton with spinach ) and Mutton Rogan Josh that is filthy rich mutton curry imaginary with curd and screwball. Theres immensely of variety for rice lovers too with everything from Usual Rice and Jeera Rice to Kashmiri Pulav and Biryani.

You can wash these down with Punjab Di Lassi ( Rs. 15 - 25 ), Punjabi Chaach ( Buttermilk ), First Badam Milk ( Rs. 25 ) and Thanda Jal Jeera, along with the usual soft drinks.

Our decision Considering its proximity to prime areas of Vizag, Apna Dhaba turns out to be a popular choice to dine in, especially if you are turmoil to INOX for a movie. The preparations are fully authentic and satisfy the taste buds of even the North Indians in town. Rates seem unbiased. Parking is often done consequent the main road. Catering and home delivery services are also provided.
