The studies reviewed in each section below were designed primarily without use of the HBM framework. However, the model is a useful practical tool to adjust and draw in research from a variety of disciplines—marketing, public health, psychology, medicine, etc.
Sociodemographic variables in the HBM
Several demographic variables consistently predict utilization of mental health services.
